Chat-EUR-Lex
The Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems collaborates with Aptus.AI on Chat-EUR-Lex project, selected in the European Commission’s NGI Search Open Call, an initiative which aims at the development and evolution of the Internet from a perspective of trust, security and inclusion.
The project aims to improve the accessibility of the EUR-Lex database, a vital source of EU legislation, employing cutting-edge AI techniques, including Chat-Based Large Language Models (Chat LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Objectives:
● to create an AI-powered interface capable of “understanding” complex legal texts, providing answers and simplified explanations, conducting interactive, context-specific discussions;
● to contribute to the EU vision of promoting digital transformation, transparency, and inclusiveness, fostering a well-informed and participatory European community.
AI models will be set up for Italian and English, but will be easily customizable to allow application to different languages and specific needs.
